FACILITY

This type of event depends on the availability of good fishing and adequate facilities.  The best type of tournament is one where anyone from anywhere can fish successfully without local knowledge. The facility may be a freshwater lake/reservoir, river or delta available for boating or a lake/reservoir, river or channel suitable for fishing from the bank or wading.  Car parking and an area for conducting the weigh-in and scoring will be provided. The USFFG will strive to secure the best locations for this event.

SCHEDULING
Competition to be held over 2 days.

A briefing will be held the evening before at a participants meeting to explain, the rules and regulations, the start time and location, the fishing area, the weigh-in area and the weigh-in time.

If bad weather occurs, consideration will be given to rescheduling.

SCORING

The scores in the Individual event will be the weight of the heaviest Largemouth Bass and will constitute the score for the "Big Bass" award only.

In the Individual competition each competitor may only enter one fish in the Big Bass event. i.e. a competitor may medal only once in the Big Bass event even if he/she caught the three heaviest fish. All legal fish will score towards the Big Bass.

In the event of a tie, multiple winners will be declared.

A participant may elect to fish alone, although this is not recommended the individual would be considered a team for scoring purposes. In the team event, team members must fish together. i.e. both onshore or dock, or both in the same boat.

To score the Team event, the total weight of the two team members is totaled. It does not matter who catches the fish or if one team member catches all the fish.

GENERAL INFORMATION
No live bait to be used. All boats must have working Live Wells, and may be checked by the host or his designee prior to departure. No airboats allowed. State laws require all participants to have a valid fresh water fishing license in the state of the event. No fly rods permitted. No trolling permitted. Fish must be caught live and in a conventional method, using a rod and reel. Only Largemouth Bass can be weighed in. The limit of fish not to exceed five (5) per boat (or fewer if restricted by state law). If too many fish are brought to weigh-in, the largest fishes will be lost until the limit is brought into compliance. All fish must be brought to the scales alive or the USFFG may impose a penalty. All fish must meet the State Laws for "keepers", i.e., length. If a short fish is brought to the scales, the participants biggest fish will be lost. All fish will be measured and weighed by the USFFG or his designee and be consistent throughout the weigh-in. It is mandatory to use a LIFE VEST AND HAVE THE KILL SWITCH ACTIVATED while the boats main engine is running. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. No boat may begin fishing prior to being instructed to do so by the check-out boat.
