Firesled Relay Rules

General Info:

* Each team consists of three crew members, one for each leg of the relay.

* The length of the course is 100 ft. There will be cones marking each end of the two lanes.

* The Firesled will have two forty five pound Olympic plates on each side for a total of four plates.

*The ceiling breach attachment will have two ten pound resistance bands and two five pound resistance bands on the top and bottom stroke.

Relay:

* The Firesled will be positioned behind the cones facing the opposite end of the course. The first crew member will stand next to the sled facing the other end of the course. The other two members of the crew will be positioned at the opposite end of the course behind the cones.

* When the official signals the start of the race, the first crew member moves to the front of the sled, removes the hose from the L handle, places it over their shoulder and begins pulling the sled past the cones on the other end.

* Once the rear of the sled crosses the cone line, the first crew member places the hose back on L handle and tags the second crew member.

* The second crew member steps on the ceiling breach deck; releases the Velcro strap from the handle and performs 30 repetitions. One up and one down counts as one rep and metal to metal contact must be made both top and bottom in order to be counted. The official will count the reps, so don’t stop until you hear the command "Done." The second crew member refastens the Velcro strap around the handle, steps off the deck and tags the third and final crew member.

* The third crew member moves to the rear of the sled, grabs the two straps and drags the sled until the front of the Firesled crosses the finish line.

Disqualifying Infractions:

* During the Hose Pull you can only face forward and pull. If you turn around and drag backwards, your team will be DQed.

* During the Victim Drag you must use both straps and you must be facing the sled dragging backwards. If you turn facing the finish line, your team will be DQed.

* You must also keep the skids of the sled in contact with the ground while dragging the Firelsed backwards to the finish line. A few bounces are acceptable, but it cannot be continuous and the front wheels must not engage.
